Bi/BiOCl Nanosheets Enriched with Oxygen Vacancies to Enhance Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Abstract BiOCl has been used in the photoreduction of CO 2 , but exhibits limited photocatalytic activity. In this study, Bi was situ reduced and deposited on surface (001)-dominated nanosheets by NaBH 4 to form Bi/BiOCl enriched with oxygen vacancies. The as-prepared having low thickness (ca. 10 nm) showed much higher concentration vacancies compared nanoplates high 100 nm). Subsequently, activity for reduction dramatically enhanced than that nanoplates, nanosheets, nanoplates. It improved can be attributed separation efficiency photogenerated electron–hole pairs metals. This work demonstrated non-noble metals are is favorable increasing reduction.

Black brookite TiO2 single-crystalline nanosheets with outstanding photocatalytic activity toward CO2 reduction is prepared by a facile oxidation-based hydrothermal reaction method combined with post-annealing treatment.
